Hello! I’m so very happy to see you here, at the brand new site for Switch to iPad! It’s very likely that you come this way by means of the Substack newsletter that I’ve been sending out for a little over a year now. As I’m typing this, it clocks in at 57 issues, many of them free, and all of them accessible in the Substack archives.
On the off chance that you’re stumbling onto this very new, very much work-in-progress site by other means, know that this is going to be about iPads. Read more about what we’re up to on the about page, or just join us for the ride by means of one of the subscription options.
Site and newsletter, sitting in a tree
So how is this going to work, with a newsletter on Substack, and a stand-alone site?
First of all, the newsletter isn’t going away, and it’s staying on Substack for the time being. You can expect weekly missives if you’re a paying subscriber, and monthly if you’re on the free tier. Subscription prices are unchanged, it’s still $5/month or $50/year.
Second, this very site will be updated a couple of times every week. There’s no set publishing schedule just yet, but that might change in the future. Content published here will be free to begin with, but I’d obviously like to give paying subscribers something extra in the future.
Third, don’t worry, I’ll remind you of this site’s existence in future mailings.
I’m looking forward to seeing where we end up with this site. I bet there’s a good balance between paid newsletter, and free site, to be found. I’m also looking forward to publish shorter, more time-sensitive pieces, and thus joining the conversation a bit more. That doesn’t mean that Switch to iPad will become one of those Apple news blogs, we’ll stick to iPad and what you can do with it, thank you very much. Besides, others do that better.
Again, I’m happy that you’re here. Now let’s do this!
