Switch to iPad

A site about going iPad first.

Weekly Missive #7

Hi!

I’m writing this at the hotel bar. We’re still hotel surfing while they’re fixing the apartment. There’s a conference here, they’re doing a music quiz, and drinking – it’s neither pretty nor a great working environment, but I like this bar. Luckily, I can block most of it out thanks to my AirPods Pro (second generation, read my review), and I don’t need to worry about crappy hotel WiFi because I’ve got a stellar LTE connection. And yes, the 11″ iPad Pro sits perfectly on the bar-top. It’s nice, I just pushed an update to Three Olives Day (it’s today!), and it kind of hits me how truly versatile this setup is.

That said, I can’t wait to move into our apartment. Tomorrow, probably.

Here’s what we published this week.

Issue #111: Building and launching a site on my iPad
🔒 Between moving and editing a manuscript, I’ve been building a new site. Yeah, that sounds nuts, but it’s not as momentous as you might think. This new site is a one-pager, celebrating what,…

Next week 👉🏻

There’s a new iPadOS 16.1 developer beta out now, and the changelog is pretty short. Here’s hoping Stage Manager continues to improve. It’s been more stable, but far from done, I’d say. I’ll keep you posted.

And again, don’t forget to put three olives in your Dry Martini today, in honor of the late Sir Roger Moore. The best recipe is on Three Olives Day, which is today, October 14th.

Cheers! 🍸
