Weekly Missive #5

Hi!

I hope you’ve had a good week. Me, I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with the second generation AirPods Pro. This is the sort of device that needs time to properly test, it’s all too easy to bang out a review without proper real-world usage. To me, that means at least a week or two, depending, of dedicated usage.

Like this morning, when I brought the AirPods Pro to the gym, rather than my first-gen gym-AirPods Pro. Yes, I have dedicated headphones for the gym, don’t judge me… Anyway, I’ve always felt that the original AirPods Pro did a good job tuning out the horrible gym muzak that they spew from their speakers, as well as the noise of feet on treadmills, rowing machines, grunting weightlifters, and that one guy who really likes to pound the boxing-bag, or whatever they’re called. With the AirPods, I can zone out from all that. I didn’t think they were lacking.

Well, the AirPods Pro 2 is something else. Apple claims their twice as good at just about everything. While it’s too early to tell, I’m beginning to think they weren’t exaggerating.

Anyway, this is what we published this week.

Next week 👉🏻

The idea is to write the AirPods Pro 2 review next week, as well as some other things, but I gotta tell you, I’m not sure how much I’ll manage. You see, I’m in the middle of a move, with renovations at the new place, and it’s happening next week. It’ll be a mess, I’m sure, living out of a backpack in hotels for almost two weeks. Then again, it’s a good time as any to put various workflows to the test, so it might, in fact, have the quite opposite effect. We’ll see.

I hope your weekend won’t consist of packing up boxes, as mine will be. If you’re feeling down, think on that, and it’ll feel better, I’m sure. Until next time, take it easy.
